Aquí nunca hablo sobre mi trabajo, de vez en cuándo os muestro algunos de mis trabajos cómo fotógrafa pero éso es todo. Hace ya cinco años que trabajo para una marca de joyas afincada en Barcelona que se llama, Daniel Vior, para la que esmalto y me encargo de “terminar” las piezas. Es una firma que fabrica todas sus joyas íntegramente en Barcelona, están hechas a mano y todas tienen un diseño muy singular, muy de autor.
Ya os conté que flipe con el museo de Amberes y lo mejor fue ver la exposición de Los Seis de Amberes, un grupo de diseñadores formado por Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries van Noten, Dirk Van Saene y Marina Yee. Luego a este grupo se unió Martin Margiela. Todos estudiaron en The royal academy of fine arts de Amberes. Para mi fue muy guay poder ver prendas que solo había visto en revistas cómo el abrigo edredón, los tabi y los proyectos de estos monstruos de la moda.

Already told you that I freak out with the museum of Antwerp and the best thing was to see the exhibition of the Antwerp Six, a group of designers formed by Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries van Noten, Dirk Van Saene and Marina Yee. Then this group joined Martin Margiela. All studied at The royal academy of fine arts in Antwerp. For me it was very cool to see clothes that had only seen in magazines how the duvet coat, the tabi shoes and the projects of these big designers.

Había olvidado por completo enseñaros las fotografías que tomé de la exposición que vimos en la Royal Academy of Fine Arts de Amberes. Me volví bastante loca fotografiando detalles así que voy a partir este post en dos por que resulta bastante abrumador.
Lo que véis en la exposición son una selección de proyectos finales de alumnos que han pasado por esa mítica escuela de la que salieron diseñadores cómo Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Marina Yee y Martin Margiela. Una escuela que por lo que veo promueve la libertad y la creatividad sin limites. Algunos diseños van más allá de la imaginación y eso es lo que me cautiva y me inspira. Feliz fin de semana!

I have totaly forgot to show you the expo we saw at Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp. I got crazy with all the details so I’m going to do a double post about it so it doesn’t overwhelm you.
What you can see here is a selection of final projects from students that studied there such as Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Marina Yee y Martin Margiela. A school that teaches freedom and creativity without boundries. Some designs go beyond imagination and it really captivates me and inspires me. Have a great weekend!
Albert Puig es un joven diseñador con base en Barcelona. Fascinado por el diseño experimental y la artesanía, le gusta jugar con los materiales y sus propiedades para encontrar soluciones creativas y funcionales mediante un proceso de fabricación artesanal en su pequeño taller.
Suele producir series muy cortas, únicas que están entre arte y funcionalidad. Alterego es su último proyecto, una silla que trata de trasladar su carácter personal, directamente a un objeto tan común como es una silla.
El artísta nos cuenta que la sensación al ver la silla es de incomodidad pero que realmente es todo lo contrário, ese respaldo a base de triangulos se adapta perfectamente a nuestras posturas. Y yo tuve el placer de fotografiar y probar la silla, qué os parece?

Albert Puig is a young designer based in Barcelona. Fascinated by the experimental design and crafts, likes to play with the materials and their properties to find creative and functional solutions by crafting process in his small workshop.
Usually produce very short series, uniques, between art and functionality. Alterego is his latest project.
The artist tells us that the feeling to see the chair is uncomfortable but it’s really just the opposite, that backup based in triangle perfectly fits our positions. And I had the pleasure to photograph and test the chair, what do you think about it?
